Windscreen Wipers

The other day I ordered a wiper for the landie. I was asked if I wanted sprung or flat, I already have flat, so said flat.

I chased the order up and was offered a genuine series wiper that landrover are making now, a higher quality one. Thinking he meant higher quality materials I said, yes. It has come, and its a chromed, spring wiper for a Series III. Did Series motors ever have sprung wipers, with chrome on? Because Im forever trying to put the age correct parts on, and Im not sure they had spring wipers on.

I think my S3 originally had chrome wipers and arms, not sure about being sprung. The current ones are black from Halfords when they used to sell such things.

It's increasingly difficult to get the older stuff in my local Halfords, it tends to be special order if it's available at all. Last time I tried I couldn't get the arms and had to use the wiper refill kit to sort out the blades. (Sundays, eh? You'd have thought I'd have learned my lesson years ago and got the bits in advance....)

cheapest way of getting ones that look original nowadays is get a set for an MG B or an austin mini as theyre exactly the same but a lot easier to obtain
