Winch ID and wiring advice

Hi guys, looking to get my winch wired up and in action. Just looking for some advice on what I'd need.

I've been told I still need the solenoid part. Would this kind of thing do the job?

Or this?
Winch solenoid box pack complete wireless and wired remote, 500 amp solenoid 12v | eBay

I've already got the hand wand remote thing but would that be compatible with the new solenoid?

the first link is all you should need to use the wander lead, do you have the socket for the lead too?

Hi, sorry to hijack, what does the wire from terminal D do ? Also in the picture below there is a 2 sets of brush contacts 1 old and 1 new also a thermal or resister of some kind ? Anyone know where it fits, goes to and from ?
