Thanks for getting back to me.

I appreciate what your saying but we are using professional equipment and I have changed the engine ECU and the becm to see if the problem was there, but it's doing the same.

I did change the OBD2 plug a while ago.

It's not showing the security code in the ems ecu , so it can't be synchronised.

Why would the security code not be seen when it's a fixed number.

Any additional help is appreciated
If you cannot read the code from the engine ECU and you have swapped the ECU, then either you have a communications problem or, more likely, your "professional" diagnostic equipment is not compatible with the P38 which is not OBD compliant. It has nothing to do with the BECM.

The software on the device has recently been updated. Could this be the problem?

I agree, if it's not dedicated to that model then the information could be unreliable. Do you know of anyone with a nanocom or faultmate that could give a second opinion?

I don't know anyone who has one with the correct software.

I'm in Preston Lancashire if anyone has one I could borrow.

The equipment is an auto logic diagnostic system and it worked before the update.

If any one can help and give another opinion in Preston. I really need my wheels back and I will be grateful.

Cheers

Take a look at the Landy Zone rescue map there may be someone on there near you.

The update may well have removed what may be regarded as obsolete vehicles and added new ones.

I would have one myself but can't afford one just yet.

When I'm up and running again I will add myself to the map

Problem identified

The EMS ECU was faulty and also found a broken wire from ecu to fuel pump , fuel quantity actuator supply.

It's been repaired so hopefully it will be back on the road soon.

How do I add myself to the map as I am a mechanic and have towing equipment, heavy duty jump leads and tools.

Good question. I'm not sure who looks after it but @blue beasty might know.

I know it's not the right place but I need help again.

My front diff exploded terrifically and locked up my front wheels in a live lane of traffic on a very busy A road with a car close behind me and an artic behind it.......luckily the 30 ft skid gave them time to break and not plow up my rear end. It took the recovery 6 hours to move the car.......long story.

My lad has removed all the diff bits ready for the replacement diff I had. The problem is that it has funny feelung bearing and we are not happy putting it in.

I'm disabled and the car is my mobility.

I need to know if anyone has a good diff I can buy cheap (disabled veteran) and can either get it to me or are close to me in Preston as both mine and my wife's vehicles are VOR.

My car is a 2.5 dse p38 but I understand any p38 diff will work, I'm sure you will correct me if I'm wrong.

If you can help or tell me who to speak to. My lad can fit it this weekend so I am on a tight deadline.

Thanks

Diff failure is often down to a seized VCU so that needs to be checked or you will be doing the job a gain PDQ

I've seen two later p38's around the 2000yr mark with blown diff bearings.. I get thw impression some corners were cut later on towards the endo_O
