Ok, its time for stupid questions again........................cos I'm good at them :doh:

Is a front diff interchangeable with the rear wun on a 300tdi????

I know the 300 diff has a different input flange, but ignoring that for now, will a 300tdi front diff fit in a rear axle and work or are there rotational or other issues????

mind yu - it begs the q - why?

paddocks say SECFRC5688 is for both front and rear axles.

They are £95 (second hand) - and a repair for a rangie is £195 - same part number.

I believe (check with Ashcrofts) yu can get 2 pinion and 4 pinion versions tho.

Yes you can swap em - just change the flange.
If you put a rear one on the front, there won't be any mounting holes for the steering rod protection bracket, but plenty of people run without them fitted anyway.

Thanks guys, I thought they were interchangeable,

I've got the offer of a front diff but I busted the rear :doh:.
As I am running a 200tdi rear prop with UJs at both ends the input flange shouldn't be an issue.
