Will it fit?

Really could do with a bit of help here.

I have the chance to buy a year 2000 5 door tailgate to replace my damaged one, but I have a facelift 3 door.
I am thinking that I can change the outside bottom trim over, which I am fairly sure is the only difference???

Am I gonna waste my money and find it doesn't fit?

should fit, the 2005 versions were still rounded on the corners on the metalwork, was just covered by the trim so should be ok if you change the trim

Thanks OP. Think I will go for it and either way report back for others, as I couldn't find anything on a search.

There will be some square holes missing from the earlier door that take clips that are part of the moulding on the facelift plastic panels (these can always be cut off) and 4 round holes for trim clips/rivets/screws, but these can be drilled in the early donor door panel...

Or take the opportunity to facelift your hippo!
