Freelander 1 Need to change my ECU and ECM

Hello i need to replace my starting kit ECM/ECU/KEY my car is a freealander 1 2.5i V6 2005, unfortunately i found only kits who come from the last gen (between 2000/2003) the only difference when i see is the ECU which is white in the 2000/2003 model, and black for 2004/2006 like mine, so my question is can i buy a kit who come form a freelander 2000/2003 ?

First off, why does it need replacing? These components seldom go wrong, with issues normally caused by other items in the loop.

No you can't use early components in a later car. When the Freelander was face-lifted, the security system was also changed, meaning you have to use the correct matching components.

Hi @Nodge68 and thanks for replying, sure it's the ECU I bought it with the ECU opened by the former owner and it s broken.

I bought a kit from an earlier freelander I will test and I will keep you posted if it works where not.

I received the kit but it did not work I have to buy the same facelift model
