Does anyone know what the legalities are if your speedo is broken and you buy a secondhand one from fleabay (with different mileage obviously) and fit that?

Do you just declare it at the time of your next MOT?

May be it's your panties that are twisted, he wasn't spamming. He was saying who he worked for to give credence to his offer to help and his knowledge of the subject matter.

This is half the problem, currently its not illegal whatsoever to change your speedo to zero. It is illegal however to sell a car and state in correct mileage, that is classed as fraud - but you have to be proven to know it, which never happens sadly.
