so the highest bidder on me 90 says he looked at another one today and has put a deposit on that one and forgot he had bid on mine..

so dunno what to do now..do i put it straight back on for buy it now..

do i pull some of the bits of and put it back on

or keep it..

£4.5k is stoopid money i was expecting a lot more

very sorry to hear that

i am a regular ebay buyer and occasional seller and i have been stung when selling in exactly the same way. because of the way ebay feedback now works you cannot even leave the time waster negative feedback. he will never have had any real intention of buying.

i would not recommend relisting because all your watchers this time will not bid over 4.5k next time.

also bear in mind how much you will lose in ebay seller fees on 4.5k

whilst your 90 is only really worth what someone is prepared to pay, it must be worth more than was offered to you. i think you are better with a conventional private sale.

stripping the best bits to sell separately might make you a grand or more but how do you then sell what is left? unless you really brake it and sell off everything separately. do you really need the hassle?

my advice would be to hang on to it, put it in a lock up, put the word out what you have, or better still, take it to on pay and play days etc. with a for sale sign in it ,and i bet a 5k+ offer will come.

best of luck

Its not unheard of for people to have 2 ebay accounts and be both top bidder and 2nd highest hoping that when they pull out of the purchase you 2nd chance it to them at a lower price

Ive had sort of the same , when I sold my car on there , the highest bidder blamed there son for bidding on it ---- lost over £300 on the sale I was mad as fook :(

Go private sale or keep it mate

this has seriously fooked me off..the fender is worth well more than £4.5k and i just cant bring meself to let it go for that..

as much as i want to take on a bobtail project i stack it up like this..

my fender well sorted if i sold for £4.5k

rrc v8 is £1k
its cost to bobtail, bodylift, and tubular rear winch bumper is £1k
it has a front winch/bumper
wheels/tyres are £895
rear winch £350
rock sliders £150
total £3395
that leaves me just over £1k left
and am i left with a rr that is worth or could sell for £3395?

Maybe something is trying to tell you that you should really keep it. Tis lovely and worth much more than that. Wish I could afford it!

Doesnt sound like you were going to let it go at that price anyway.

Sounds a little fishy to me ... your shill bid and no one topped it?

To be honest I thought it would go for a LOT more than that... seems as though you got off lucky there with the non-payer. Everything was right about the car, your feedback score, the listing, pictures etc - can't fathom why it didn't fetch more than that.

I hope you reported him as a non payer. Its the only way to ensure you dont pay final valuation fees

G

eBay don't let you do that until about a week after the listing finishes... it's ridiculous. And he has already paid the fees, when he reports the bidder as a non-payer, he'll have to claim them back.

it sounds to me like a horrible turn of events. we all look for bargains on flea bay. they must come from someone, i am in no doubt that you would have stuck to your end, i would put it straight back on with a reserve?

it is **** that the "buyer" bid in two places, however that is life!

sorry. i would be well and trully P***ed off if i were you
