Yup Cheers JM Supposidly covered 43K miles and for a tenner I think it'll be good enough. Will check the VC in the morning when its light and I know the splines do wear quite alot but this will be rebuilt using my bro's VC which he fitted to his motor a couple of years ago and new internals if needed. The one he has at the moment has developed a slight noise on overrun which we suspect is a stretched chain rubbing the casing due to high milage. will sort it. I have brought many Borg warner boxes and checked them all but for a tenner I can't complain and the poor guy wasn't having much luck and I must say sounded one of the most genuine LR guys I've ever met.

that was cheap ,bw is a beautiful simple design, about the best of any lr to rebuild in there day we used to do one from stripping to finsh in a hour

Was tempted to fit one to my 90 but the ratio is a PITA low range is quite high geared no good for me and high range is only slightly taller than 1.22 disco box no good for my 4.7 diffs.

It is nice in the disco especially with a Kaiser locker in the rear and soon to be fitted Torson Gleason (can't spell too many beers) in the front soon to be fitted. Just to just drive and all the traction aids work on their own no input from the driver as they need to is effortless.

I keep picking up BW boxes quite cheaply think this is the 5th one now always on the look out as they always sell. Only issue with them is if they are stored as they lay on their side for a while Long while the VC seize up.

way of the world sadly and as times get harder your see it more

Feel for you. Paranoid about the lump I've got waiting to go in. Certainly not in as good a condition as I was led to believe. Waited three weeks for it to turn up and was crapping meself that he'd taken the money and run. If its knackered ill be happy to name and shame but heres hoping...
