I had a 300tdi which was great while it lasted, but needed rebuilding and as I needed transport for work I had to let it go, 3 or 4 cars later and nothing filled the void, so it was time for another Landy in the family, I must admit it was a fender I wanted but having seen some horror stories for scary money and with the wife god bless her constantly saying how much she liked the last disco, we got Lara our td5 and for all her little niggles shes a keeper and stuffs the void very nicely.

Only until your heater matrix pops, then you can spend a day removing your dash, merry Christmas mate, ps, no fan = quick warm up on a 200tdi tratter;)

unlikely , i swapped my light weight for current disco 2 ,eventhough id fully rebuilt the lwt on galv chassis i know which is the better car to drive regulary

Sorry lads, but when you've worked on so many discos, you realize that (most) of their owners are just sad tratter wanabees:(

Not this one, I hate Defenders, what a piece of archaic sh!t. One of the bigger problems with people who buy Disco's is that they want it but don't necessarily have the skills or knowledge to do the work properly, shame is that a pr!k like you denies that Defender owners suffer the same fate and I have seen and worked on more fooked up fenders than I ever have Disco's.

I've never seen a fender go where my disco can't! I've actually pulled many fenders out of the sh*t, difference is I was rather comfortable while doing it.... :D

I bought a Disco 1 because I wanted a fender but due to it being a daily, I needed something with a bit more comfort (plus it fitted my budget). Disco is perfect mix of comfort and off road ability, and it does me well day to day, fuel consumption is good for its size, auto box is smooth, 300 tdi has bags of power and has much more potential than land rover afforded it (working on a chip for the edc and a turbo upgrade ;), and it tows what ever i need to tow anywhere I need to go.

Know the feeling, I had a series 2a (which I miss like mad now) which I sold as I didn't have the time or money to keep it at that stage in my life, and the girlfriend complained she was too wet, cold, unreliable, slow etc.
looked for a defender for ages, found one a really loved, went to look at it and then went home to think it over and get the deposit, went back a day later and someone else has already bought it.
Searched but nothing else took my fancy at the time.
Gave up and bought a Disco 2. One day I'll have a defender though. Maybe next time.

We've had a series of Discos over the years, then my wife fancied a Def so we bought one: 1996 110 Tdi 300. Very good work vehicle but as uncomfortable as it gets.

We're now back to a Disco and even though she harks for the Def, the Disco imo is a better overall proposition for us; and she likes Dixie !

Oh, are you that famous Belgian, sorry my mistake, there are no famous belgians:p

Rick Van Looy is a world famous Belgian cyclist and an all round nice guy, maybe you didn't know this but Audrey Hepburn was a Belgian born actress, bit of fact trivia for you too, the saxophone was invented by a Belgian man by the name of Adolphe Sax, or how about Eddy Merckx? His list of major victories is staggering. He is one of only four cyclists to have won the Tour de France five times, along with Jacques Anquetil, Bernard Hinault and Lance Armstrong. At the 1969 Tour de France, Merckx performed the still unequaled feat of winning the Yellow Jersey (overall winner), the Green Jersey (points winner) and the Polka-Dot Jersey (King of the Mountains).

Should I keep going????

Epic fail on your part as you only know which country I reside, I am actually an Englishman, you on the other hand are a moron.

Now, back on topic lads.

You try being a smoker for 20yrs and then being told by the doctor to quit or die!!

Kind of killed my sense of humor and I am having to resign to being a grumpy bastid the rest of my life, even my boss is now **** scared of coming to add things on to my agenda just in case he gets the #### off like he got 2 days before Christmas, everyone here says I was a much nicer person as a smoker.

Wonder if it gets better, been 2 weeks without a smoke and I am fit to kill some one
