Why are Wolf Defender 110's so expensive?

The Wolf 110's are more expensive because there are relatively few for sale compared with the early 2.5 N/A 1980's 90/110's and the 110 Wolf is a current army vehicle so few are released. They are more desirable as the 300TDi engine fitted to them drags their performance levels from what would be barely acceptable in the 1950's to modern standards.
The early 2.5 N/A 90/110's are currently plentiful as they have reached the end of their service life, so have been disposed of in huge numbers and are less desirable as they are horrible to drive and have less roll-over protection.
If you are on a budget, aim for an early 2.5 N/A 90/110, you will be surprised how solid most are and budget for a 300tdi and power steering conversion.

They are only released once they have eaten all there budget so as above are still current in service. They are monsters, much higher spec than standard. Reinforced chassis and axles. The engine is fairly standard 300tdi I believe but it is 24v electrics. Far more common for squaddies to abuse them given the extra power.

I've got a 110 Tithonus and currently work in the MT, so I'm always useing wolfs.

It still amazes me the condition of my Tithonus over the wolfs. The Tithonus don't Seam to be much older, so I suppose they were massively outdated even though they were in use at the same time. I guess everyone just used the wolfs and left the others in the sheds.

Mine Tithonus came with wolf rims, R380 gearbox, new seats and a new rollcage it's all wolf kit, but after I get a new transfer box and install a 300 tdi with all the bits, it's guna cost me about 10,000 total.

So I can see where the price for the wolf comes from. But I wouldn't buy one. Chances are it's been massively neglected.
Get the best Tithonus you can.

Just my opinion anyway

Yer they are, and some WOLFs are different to others down there. but I've not heard of many defenders chassis snapping. (Rusting yes!) I guess if your doing lots of off roading or going to war get the WOLF. But I don't think they are selling the good ones yet.

It will be a little while yet but when they decide to bin the 110 wolf fleet that will be the ideal time to buy. Until then only broken ones will come out.
