My wiring is a fooking mess. Well it's a lot tidyer than it was, after wiring in a headunit. But Its like a ****ing birds nest in there, I've got a ****e load of wires connected to nothing, and I don't know what's what  I'd not have been bothered but my stereo decided to keep working, just not sending out any sound. I blew the top left fuse, should have been 13a according to the manwell, but there was a 20a fuse in there. WTF is going on! I just want me bloody stereo to work LOL. As far as the speakers are concerned I've brought some cable to wire them in individually, that's fine.

****in hell jim, gawd knows wat ur bedroom looks like if the state of ur wiring is anythin ta go by!!i would go ave a look in mine but.....;)

i didn't think that wiring looks so bad, there's obviously the fag lighter and clock feed along with the ariel and yer speaker wires

have you identified which is perm live and switched live etc yet ?

remove the crap like bottle tops and empty mugs - then trace each wire back and remove those not attached. yellow one and purple one most important once yu clear out the crap - you will be able to organise it better.

I think i was in a bit of shock rilly. I've worked out that the chunky green wire is the switched ign feed.. contrary to everyone's advice  Purple is live, black obv earth.

What does the yella one do? That aint never been connected :D

You sure it's all just stereo wiring?

If it is I'd be inclined to rip the lot out it's all just a mess of bodged connectors anyway. For your headunit you'll need a switched (ignition) live, battery live, earth, aerial and your + and - speaker wires. Everything else you can get rid of unless you've got a complex sound system or something.

Seen a real problem with your photo...your lass needs to keep the mug topped up thus meaning the job will become much clearer.....but am ****ing divorced so dont take my advice!

aye mine ****ed off anorl!! Part of that wiring is for the clock, fag lighter, and rear wiper (which don't work anyway) I'm running the constant live and earth from the battery (well I'm going to) and the chunky green one I've found out to be ign switched. So I'll use those, and whatever speaker wires are there are shot anyway so I'm wiring them from scratch too. was more worried about the fuse that's blown, a 20a fuse in a 13a fuse socket.. hmm.

ahh it will be for the leccy aerial that it had til it were snapped off. and aye that's one of the speaker sets, I've got front OS and rear NS cables. the others are nowhere to be found :D

dont think they are cos the rear ones are what look like rear surround speakers from an old home theatre kit. I'll have a proper look when I get a whole day free.

get a little penlight battery and put it across the speaker wires, you should hear a crackle, least then you'll know if the speakers are alive
