Who wants to see my girlfriends crack??

Ideally rather than paying money for a wedding car, spend that money on sorting your Landy out and then using that as your dream wedding vehicle
Bugger me, how much do people spend on wedding cars?! Mine didn't cost anything as a good friend helped out with his company merc! :)

It could be repaired ,when i lived in northumberland the farm i worked on had an old tdi 90 and the chassis snapped due to excessive rust

The garage he used said it was scrap so he took it to an old school blacksmith / fabricator and it was back on the road that week !

Depends how much such a place would charge his time out at but its a possibility ,even if it did only get you another few years out of that chassis

Again, many thanks for all your kind words and encouragement, but after discussions the last few days, we just don't have the money, time or space - to either store or do the work any kind of justice.

She is now listed on Ebay and she'll go to a new home....sad day for us.

Stiff upper lip and all that....

Chalk it up and move on, keep your chin up and all that and just focus on the future, the wedding and the important things in life :)

Good eBay ad that, should do okay.

I like how you've done an honest ad. Alot of people wouldn't mention the bad bits. Wish I'd seen this when I brought my 90 haha probably be a better deal. Best of luck! Toffee hammer and screwdriver next time! Magnet can be good as well doesn't stick if it's filled in

Just read through the ebay ad, mate. It's actually a sad read :( cos you're affection for the Landy is obvious.
Can your dad not keep it stored until you are able to get a chassis for it?
"so she will have to go to A N Other who has the time, skill and space to do it justice." I hope you're not saying you don't have the skill to sort it out. Welding aside, you could put that on another chassis in your sleep with an arm tied behind your back.
I've just looked up a 110 300Tdi chassis on the RC website and they are £2268 there'll be deliver on top of that if you can't pick it up. How much will you be spending on a replacement vehicle for your girlfriend? (rhetorical question) I know you'll have the money from the 110 to put towards it, but you'll probably spend more than that? Just a shame to see you lose it. :( Good luck either way.

You can still get proper dodgy mots where they dont even see the car, but I reckon its harder then it was a couple of decades ago.
Last i heard of was 200 quid, seems dear but if car has some expansive emissions problem may be a bargain compared to repair cost.
Most modern cars will pass mot with little to no attention, its the older special stuff that needs the tlc.
