Well the title pretty mutch said it all.

On the freeway in 5th gear, i can ear a whining noise starting at around 100kmh (60mph). If i slow down a bit, the whine fades away, but as soon as i reach that speed again, the whining noise returns.

No idea what might be. It seems to come from the front of the car, any ideas?

Mine's always had a slight whining noise when I reach 50mph - Ive read that it could be the type of tyres that are fitted - Pirelli Scorpion STR's are on mine.

I dont worry about it - it's got no worse and to be honest its the only noise that I can hear from inside the cab.

might be worth checking the gearbox / ird / rear diff. .. oil levels

mine's always had a slight whine from the rear diff. at 50/60 mph or so
usually when the engine load is lite-ish .. i.e. downhill when the vehicle weight is helping out
and the road is straight ..
( although on one M-way journey it was evident on the flat .. i.e. engine on 'load' )
recently checked oil levels .. rear diff was a bit low .. topped it up
whine has all but vanished ..
