Ok people I've been reading all you posts of a while and your all very good.
So I'm hoping you can help me with my problem because it's starting to drive me nuts. Last winter I took the prop shaft off my freelander td4 because she seemed to me making a whining noise from the rear end. I did all the tests before hand check vc bearings vc tests reverse test, everything I have read on here. all looked good but to prop off to be sure. Noise still there. with lock down this year I done some work on her, new front ball joints anti roll bars, even made a metal sump guard and new fuel tank carriers. Well after everything the whine noise is still there. new tyres on back, new trailing arm bushes, taken the back off the diff, black oil no metal all looks great. wheel bearings seem fine. I've measured all the back linking bars right and left all the same. The only thing I have noticed is the top of the rear right wheel sits a little closer to the shock than the left, you can just get your fingers down the back on the left but not the right, springs are not broke, n if it was just a soft spring would that make it whine? I can not tell what side its coming from, that's why I thought it was the diff. Has anyone any ideas? please
