Well i bought some genuine LR heavy duty winter blades VUB500900 but at 1st glance wasnt impressed simular to the Britpart & Trico HD blades.TBH unless you do alot of off-roading or severe cold weather i would say bosch is more suited :director:

Must be wiper blade month, just bought pair of Britax from local motor factor, as the rubbers had split on both of mine, for just under £12. Can't blame the snow or ice as we've not had any snow and always clear the screen of ice before using the car.

Is there a general concensus to size then? I don't have the freelander in my possession yet but want to start ordering the essentials.

Don't know what size they are off the top of my head, but if you go on to halfrauds website and do a search it will give you the sizes on there.

In the past I have found guides to all be different. The halfords ones say mx5 mk3s are 21 and 15 inch when they are 17!

You need a 22" (550mm) for the drivers side.

And a 21" (530mm) for the passenger side.

The best blades are the Bosch Aero type.

Not only are they smear free but they divert flies, crud and light drizzle up over the windscreen. And they last much longer.

Bosch do a special set of 2 called Aerotwin for LandRover, M-Benz, and Rover 75s which use this staggered size.

The code number you need is AeroTwin AR550S which comes with one of each size in the box.

Cost just under £19 on ebay -there are other suppliers - like 'Wiper Blades Ltd. of Kidderminster for example - very quick - next day delivery.
