Hi guys i have an ES V8i discovery and have champion spark plugs but have never liked the champion spark plug as have had problems with this brand of plug on other vehicles. Was wondering which spark plug does everyone recommend?

Thanx in advance!!:D:D:)

I thought I had replied earlier.

The answer is NGK plugs.

Assuming you need 14mm long reach plugs use a NGK BP6 EC or NGK BP6 ES.

Buy 8. Set gaps to 0.028 to 0.030 (say 0.7 to 0.8mm) apply a little copper-grease to the threads (NOT the ends!) and screw one into each plughole.

Enjoy.

I have no idea what makes NGK plugs so good, but most people will notice the difference.

BPR6ES

Hmmm...... those are resistor plugs - a built-in resistor in them, probably about 15k ohms.

Before using them check if you can use resistor PLUG LEADS as well as resistor plugs.

My view would be to avoid them in favour of the BP6ES or BP6EC plug type.

Too much resistance (it would be doubled) can lead to the failure of the high tension insulation especially in the distributor cap, rotor arm, king lead and coil head.

You don't need that sort of trouble.

Thanks guys Im a huge fan of NGK plugs but wondered if there was anything that i needed to know about any other plugs. I will invest in the NGKs for sure!
Thanx!!

Hi Lakespeed, If u havent got your new plugs yet you can get them on line at the site of spark-plugs.co.uk I placed an order recently at 3:30pm and they arrived with the postman at 08:00 next day. I went for Champion RN11YCC @ £2.09 + vat and p&p each or the NGK BPR6E are £1.85 + vat and p&p each.

Regards

Well how the !"£$%^&*( were we supposed to know that?

SOME of us have a little indication of our locations .....

(I sure hope mine is there!)
