Hey guys...

I have a td5 2001 Defender 110. I was thinking of replacing the front and rear diff oils, transmission oil and transfer box oil.

Can some one tell me which oils should I use and how much would be required? please tell me the grade and now the brand. And i should be using mineral rite? After how long do I chage them?

Cheers!

i use ep90 in my diffs and transfer box..
i replace the oils in my diffs every 2 months as i do a lot of offroading and wading
its one of those jobs thats perfect for a sunday aftnoon and dont take long but will do the world of good to the diffs and tranny box

So what am I suppose to use and how much?
Please tell me the grade and specs not the brand. Like GL 5 or Gl4??

And the quantity for diffs, transmissuion and transferbox.

cheers!

This manual is unclear!

Why dont ppl know about TD5, I doubt that they are rare cars....??And I am sure the difs tranny and transmission are the same.

I have big square like rear diff...

As has been already said in the second post ep90 in the diffs and transferbox, not sure how much exactly about 2 liters in each just keep filling until it flows out of the fill hole. Then put MTF in the gearbox again Im not sure how much I bought 5 liters last time and there is more than half of it gone after one change.

You mean you have a half inch drive rachet and bar :D

i have a half inch extendable wheel brase which i use :D take less than 1/2 hour to do both front an back.

hardest part is removing the diff gurads.

i use ep90 in diffs
ep90 in transfer box

AFT or landrover MTF in the gearbox (depends what i got at the time)

and 15-40 semi sthy in the engine

i change all my fluids offen as offroading takens its tole and wading even worse. and fill my gearbox up ever month as i loose so much oil lol
