Which land rover is best for towing caravan

Probly a disco coz it's the most comfortable for journeys and better than the rangie for towing (Not as good as the proper landy but yer'll be staying on the road!)

just bought a disco 2 for towing and it tows a treat, its a manual which apparently preferable for towing, mines got a chip upgrade, 5th gear all the way, brilliant.
had a 5 series beemer estate before and the discovery is loads better.

They recon the 109 is a better towcar than the 88, longer wheelbase. Even though the 88 has a shorter tail overhang. So I guess the same applies to 90 and 110.
But Defenders cost a lot more than the equivalent Discovery. But then, its cheaper to buy another Discovery than replace the sills. What price, year are you thinking about?

Becuase if you dont ask you dont know ,Had afew land rovers but only just got caravan so have only used range rover me heads all over the place at mo was looking at R reg 110 defender but wondering if it had the guts or are all 2.5 diesels rubbish at towing up hill.

Ive got a 97 3.9 auto disco and me mates got a 97 r/r dse they are both capable tow cars
only the badly maintained ones
yeah it tows great along flat and down hill but gets hot going up i blew top rad hose going up telegraph hill got goin agian ok but thats all thats putting me off range rover p38 is very nice otherwise no rust very stright and very clean inside and out will be getted to get rid really have drive older shoguns and nissan patrol but just dont fill as nice as rr .
has been maitained well .
so it over heated because ?
