Hi everyone,my dad is just about to make a trip to Gambia with his Landrover dis 200 TDI 94,where he plans to sell it before flying back, only problem is they all want Left hand drive so we need to find a conversion kit to left hand drive,I would appreciate any info people have on this subject and any info about selling landys in Gambia, mauritania, thanks alot :)

There's no such thing as a conversion kit it's all indivdual parts.
You will be the first to sell RHD discos in Cambia so let us all know whats involved and how much money there's to be made.:mil12:

Then nathan may do it :)

Silly idea

don't they have **** all

For the record Nathan its been done loads,by friends of ours last year for instance, just because a majority of a population has **** all, does not mean every1 has nothing it means that the rich get richer while the poor suffer and in countries like Gambia you actually NEED a 4x4 unlike here where people can afford to run their 4 litre engines as a hobby.
ok so your not going to make a fortune but you can experience some of the best off roading and see some of the world at the same time.
anyway if anyone could actually write something helpful i would appreciate it...
Like a list of the pieces required to do the work would be good :)

All I can think of doing is to try and get one imported as there will be none in the uk with the wheel on the wrong side. Try an ebay search for lefty discos perhaps? Otherwise you may be out of look. I may be wrong though!

Never said it hasnt been done, youve come on here to ask how to do it so you can take it to gambia and sell it and you ask how? seems your starting right at the bottom by knowing nothing about the conversion and nothing about the selling of it when you get there....based on them facts your embarking on a whole world of grief... good luck if you do go ahead with it sure you'll come out the other side a whole lot wiser :)
If your friends done it last year surely they are the best people to ask?

You need the dash and the steering box from a LHD car, and perhaps the brake pump , but the pipes can be modified. Also the AC or heating unit may be needed.
It's not worth all the job, as these parts can be expensive in Europe(up to 5-600 Euros).
You better buy a cheap LHD from Netherlands or Germany for the trip, or simply sell yours not modified for spares in Gambia.

Have you checked out import duties? Or if intending flogging it off `on t` black` remember the value will drop with no docs.
