Newark show or returning to Billing?? with the booking for both now open where are you all deciding to go? or if anyone has info where some of the main traders are going can they please post or maybe some traders can let us know where they will be taking there stalls please post also with the 2 mags at logger heads and spoiling things it might be a good idea for the punters to get together and decide on making one of the shows a success rather than have to disasters, so where we going?????

I will be meeting with the show organiser very shortly at An Open day at Newark. So will have more info once I have met her. But I'll be at Newark. Billing is going to be a giant building site during June, July, & Aug. Not ideal for a family holiday.

I'm still going to Billing not because it's near (it's a two hour drive each way) but I've been going there since day one when trade stall were just on one side of the road and only £8 for the car, I forget when that was,1989 may be.

Anyway LRO are back running the show this year.:D

" Land Rover Owner International magazine and Live Promotions are delighted to announce the 2009 LRO Billing Show – on the traditional dates of July 17/18/19.
‘We’re delighted to be back at Billing, which is a magical venue for enthusiasts,’ says LRO’s editor-in-chief John Pearson.
We felt it was essential to keep the tradition of Billing and Land Rover events going. There will be all the great content, trade and club stands and off-road course that are synonymous with Billing.
‘The event will be run by one of the country’s top show organisers, Live Promotions, so show-goers and exhibitors can be assured it will be highly professional, with good security and facilities.’

The LRO Billing Show is in addition to LRO’s other two successful events:

• The worlds biggest Land Rover show, the LRO Show at the East of England Showground, Peterborough on September 12/13.
• The first major event of the year, the LRO Spring Adventure at Driffield Showground, East Yorks, on May 9/10."

LRO have never run the show before, LRE used to run it. until LRM took over last year and then realised why LRE had dumped it, and promptly dumped it themselves. Only reason LRO have taken it on is to Spite LRM.

LRO were the original organisers, when they announced they were pulling out, the organising team decided to put it on, and it was only whilst discussing this with traders that the idea of them starting a new magazine came up, and so LRe was born.

The current situation looks as if they knew what they were doing when they moved out a few years ago.

It makes you wonder what would have happened if LRM hadn't jumped in and the original team had moved the show to Kelmatsh as they planned.

Incidently that team has now broken up, and most have no current links with LRe.
