ive had a look around and havnt found a thread so if there is one and im repeating it then apologies in advance. will 16 inch f.l wheels fit an f.l fitted with 15s? im on about early ones up to 2001. cheers.

Yes, but any wheels from a freelander after 2001 wont fit because of the bigger calipers. oops! see next post.

:doh:Ignore that im confused, any freelander 1 wheels will fit older freelanders but wheels from a pre 2001 freelander wont fit cars built after 2001 because of the bigger calipers

cheers dazz. it looks like it might be cheaper to buy a set of alloys rather than trying to find a cheap set of matching tyres but they all seem to be 16inchers.

But you can put spacers on and create more clearance for the callipers. My jan 2001 freelander came with 17" wheels and 5 mill spacers on the front! I have just got a set of 16" alloys for my Avon snow/ice tyres and they fitted no problem
