ok, so i just picked up a set of series 1 std steel wheels, i was ringing around to get a price to get my tryes i have to be fitted, one of the places i rang said they have the wider 4x4 valves... ive never herd of wider valves and i dont wana go to that place because its very overpriced.

does anybody know what valves these are because i do not want to get it wrong and have a blow-out.

thanks mark

I used to run old cars fiftys and pre war models, some of em have large holes in the rim for oldfashioned large valves ,you used to be able to get spacers\reducers to fit modern valves \ tubes but i dont know wether these are still available or not,its been a long time since i came across them or had anything to do with em ...hope this helps ...dave ..ps you could allways weld em up perhaps?????????

the older wheels that were fitted with inner tubes had a larger valve housing. Standard valves wont fit. Hence larger valves.

Judging by the username discomark10, I think he means Disco Series 1 Steel Wheels which are tubeless, not Series 1 like 1948-1957
