whilst I wait for a thread guessing gauge to arrive I wonder if anyone knows the sizes of threads on a wheel stud. I presume the two threads are different. The one the wheel nut goes on looks finer than the one that screws into the hub. Its the hub thread I am having trouble with.
On removing the wheel nut the whole thing came out of the hub, stud and all.
Being a big daft ham fisted neanderthal, I have managed, with the aid of several grips and a vice to destroy the thread on the hub screw so probably wont be able to measure it very well anyway. It looks like a 9/16 UNF to my untrained eye but so does the nut thread on the other end
I just wanted to be sure before I force a 9/16 nut on it to re cut/mash the thread and weld it back in the hub.
I presume its a series one hub....................possibly o_O

Have you tried screwing the good wheel thread into the hub to see if they are the same. 9/16 sounds right but could be unc or unf, My guess would be unc.
