Hello people, newbie here. I'm in the early stages of restoring a 1981 Series 3 88" and have a question regarding the non-standard front hubs fitted. Put simply, does anyone know who they are made by? The half-shafts have threaded holes in the hub end, rather than an external thread for a crown nut, which I can't find on any Series parts diagrams. They have UJs rather than CV joints though, so not from a Defender either.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Ah. Thanks. Also, that was quick! The beast is quite a mish-mash of parts, so this rebuild is going to be fun.

Thanks. Yes, I noticed the brakes. It was originally a 2.25 diesel, but has a 2.5 petrol in it now. At some point someone's fitted a used bulkhead too. I'm going to treat it to a new galvanised chassis, since the original's more weld than original steel. A real George Washington's axe of a Landy!

2.5 petrol are a good engine in a Series.

Those brakes are good too. I have had two Six cylinders, one with the Six cylinder engine, another with Perkins diesel, and the brakes were excellent when properly adjusted.
