Hi guys, got a question regarding the lovely alloy wheel spacers that so many of us use. Currently on my 90 I have a set of 30mm spacers and they are great - but want to lower my suspension by 2 inches to standard and with the +50mm arches the wheels need poking out a bit for the proper stance/look. Want to lower to standard height as things are a bit unstable at speed when I feed in power. Want 50 or 60mm spacers but can't find any online for reasonable money at the moment - but can I add another 30mm set to make 60mm??? Has this been done- I know it's not "optimal" but can I get away with it?? Don't plan to go beyond 80 (tyres)? What do you reckon?? Many thanks

Dave

.... theoretically, yeah i dont see why not, but you will be putting excessive strain on the wheel bearings as a result.

other than that it should be fine i think?!

The vehicle only weighs 1600kg, and I don't load it or tow with it, although I understand I am extending the fulcrum distance from the bearing to wheel considerably, but would the absence of heavy work buy me grace with the wheel bearings do you think??

in short, no.. but look, if you keep an eye on them, all you will do is wear them out slightly faster. if it was me, id give it a go and see what happens, i wouldnt change my driving style at all, just keep a closer eye on the W/B's, but essentially, they are taper bearings so if you wear them out faster, it means you will need to tighten them faster, other than that, id say make sure you get hub centric spacers..
