Hi, looking for advice ref my 2005 Freelander 1 Sport. It has the 20mm lower and stiffer suspension which I want to change for standard suspension. Is it possible to fit standard FL1 springs to the existing struts? If not could I get a set of standard FL1 struts with springs to fit?

First you've asked yourself why you want to undo all the development that LR did to make the sport handle so well, let alone devalue the vehicle.
In answer to your question, no. The shocks and springs are different, as are the suspension settings, so you'll need to do the work and then have the alignment set for standard suspension for your engine/ gearbox and HVAC type.

Hi Nodge68,
Ive just bought a Mark 1 Freelander 3 door Sport and after our first run out I took it to my local garage to tell them how rattley it is underneath. The mechanic could find nothing wrong but did say there could be a broken Coil spring and to book it in for further investigation but he told me its safe to drive. Was he right? any advice please.
