Hi,

Today my front wheel decided to go on a mission of its own. I have a 98 defender 90 running on rostyles with 205's. My wheel studs seem long enough with a line at the end however I am not convinced (having lost the front wheel!) that the nuts are correct.

Do I require alloy wheel nuts for these rims? I think I might just get shot of the rims and go back to the standard set...has anyone got any they wish to get rid off..white please....

Ta vmuch,

Mupps.

Cheers for the response.....the disoc wheels sound good but steels seem simpler....as fpr the damage... a brake disk possibly however it drove home when the wheel was put back on......I haven't had a chance to look and just parke it up until next week....

Will keep you all posted. Are those rims white???

Ta...

Like I say, kinda white. I have a couple at home which are better, 2 here that are white, 1 kinda cream, 1 that was green but that has mosly fallen off to white. They look tatty, but like I say they will be fairly cheap and have tyres on them.

just make sure the studs are not damaged near the hub, or the hub, the wheel was probably running loose for a bit before it took off, the holes in the wheel need looked at as well but if you are fitting new then fine.

The alloy wheels have nuts with a shank on them, are your nuts not tapered.

Cheers guys,

I will check it out next week. I had only just finished cleaning it and taken my girlfriend out for her first spin!!! Mind you lukcy no one was hurt.. The nuts were tappered where they meet the wheel..

As for the steel rims I will chack out to see if I have a couple of whites in the garage and then might take you up on the offer of the other 2 whites you have 'boydy1989'. I am located in berkshire so not far from you...

Thanks again,

Mupps..
