:confused: Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me, lm starting to hear and feel a low humming noise coming from the front end and can also feel a slight vibration through the steering wheel when turning left whilst driving....lm assuming this could be a wheel bearing about to go:doh:. Ive priced an assembly kit ie: hub + bearing and its about £180 all in. Was wondering if anyone knew of any problems that might arise if l decide to fit it myself or am l just as well putting it into my local lr specialists? cheers,
Tony

if yu can get the Abs sensor out

Thanks Stevie, l think l'll try gettin the 1 off ebay and just do it myself if l can save the sensor, cheers

On the TD5 series 2 The ABS sensor is held in by a clamp and 6mm bolt, if you need a new wheel bearing you will have to buy a new hub which includes a new abs sensor and wheel bearing

The biggest problem I have found in DIY hub replacement, is the removal of the central hub nut and retorquing to the manual figure. You really need a good quality, 6 point, 3/4 in drive socket and very big breaker bar (4ft + long is ideal) to remove and obviously a v big torque wrench for refitting, again 3/4 in drive item.
