Wheel arches faded help

Hi I bought some new wheel arches for my 90 about a year ago and they looked very nice when they were actually black, now they've faded to a dull dark grey


Has anyone ever painted them with success ? Or how on earth do you keep them black?? Bit annoyed as they cost me about £150

Nope not a larf though most reckon linseed oil is betterer

True, but dogs, cows lick it off.

I use WD40 sprayed onto a cloth then rubbed onto the arches, once a year does me.

I'm just in the middle if painting my disco arches , but the 90 ones are more flimsy and I'm guessing the paint might flake off

I used Armor All (plastic-tire protector/restorer) and rubbed it in with one of those mildly abrasive green dish sponge/cleaner things. It worked quite well and 2 years on they are still black as can be.

Heat gun. Be careful but it causes the plastic to remember it's colour. Best fix by far.

Worked a treat on my old T4's bumpers.

Back to Black type restorer should work, or interior trim shine, WD40's another trick, as Cassey said.

Another vote here for WD40

I always find back to black washes off after a few weeks.
I used this..

... on my very faded 110 plastics which were really grey. It's still jet black a year and a bit later. It seems to dye the plastic rather than cover it.

I'm just about to experiment with some plastidip on my range rover to cover some faded plastics. It can be peeled off though so might not be suitable for wheel arches.

Either spray em or just buy some tyre and trim gel....

Forever black. Don't buy trim dressing it eventually dries the plastics out even more (been told but not what I think) but forever black certainly works
