whats wrong with my steering?

my car has deveoped a wobble in the steering at certain speeds or when hitting a pothole, only the front axle. i get a shake through the steering wheel and a tapping noise from the collum, movement side to side and the front wheels are wobbling left to right quickly, not enough to throw the steering but enough to make my arse wobble too.
it has a 2" ilft
adj panhard rod
brand new steering arms tracked
and everything it needs to correct any of the troubles of lifting a car.

Check your wheel bearings, swivel pins and wheel balance.

dodgy steering damper?

get somone to wobble steering wheel vigourously while you feel for play in steering box and the 4 ball joints do it with wheels straight

check your panhard rod bushes and that the bolt is the correct fit.... even the slightest prob can cause some scary wobbles when hitting a pothole

Sorted! The "Comedy-Death wobble" has finaly gone, want half shafts or anything esle, it was simply the balancing on my wheels, new set of all terrains were long overdue and niceley weighted! just letting you lot who have a similar issue know! Happy Chap!

Glad you've sorted your problem. I've got a steering problem. Steering is very notchy and stiff in certain parts. Could this be a cv joint problem. Can't find any play anywhere at all. Seems worse on left hand bends. Help definitely would be great.hope it's not serious.

Sounds more likely to be a steering box problem to me! CV joints can flex even when they're in the most appalling condition. See if the feel changes if you move the adjuster in and out a bit, so you can tell if it's binding.

Do you mean adjuster on top of steering box.steering is stiff more on turning left and feels a bit vague. Drives straight with no wobbles
