Whats wrong with my engine

Seems to be a bit unlikely, they would have to drive it in shifts, I think, must be about 50k a year:D
To give you an idea of what is possible tho, a mate sold his 200Tdi def last year, it had 254,000 on the clock on original engine and still running ok and passing emissions.

Yes, my old Defender, one before the turbo one, had done 255,000 when I sold it. Couldn't imagine it doing that 4 times tho

 :D

oops, happens to everyone. I ruined my garage floor by emptying the engine and both axles into my drain pan, sliding it out, picking it up then promptly tripping over the worklight lead.

Took most of a bag of sand to sort  still spurred me on to sort it properly and paint my garage floor again

:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

Weren't my fault. The first lot I put the container under the drain plug and the oil came out of the side. Second one I worked out the angle of descent of the oil and put the container off to one side, it fell straight down.

This happened on every single one, engine, gearbox, transfer box and both axles.

I wont even comment on filling them all up again with the pump thing

On the plus side those photo show that I did manage to fit the winch bumper :D:D (well almost on my own)

i'll post pics of my full fluid change tomorrow, you can all laugh at the size of my funnel and bucket

 Cant wait :D:D

I dont know how Neil dares to leave me in that workshop :D:D

I forgot. I was going to practice doing rock steps, off the ramps , I was sure they were on the floor. They weren't

This stuff is really hard

At least my reputation for the one who spreads oil over the floor has been eclipsed by this slick.....

I wouldn't bet on it, Neil says "zips slick" is still engraved in one part of the floor. He intends to wash the floor so both will be visible :D:D:D:D

Hebden Bridge is a good place ... to come from!

Heptonstall makes Last of the Summer Wine look like Sex in the City! ;) ;)

I know ... I escaped!! :D :D

What a day. I sent Neil a text this morning telling him I though the Landy wasn't handling properly and the back end was twitching. It had worried me on the way back from laning yesterday. He said it was probably the trailing arm and said come down to the workshop. When I arrived he found the nut has worked itself loose and the bush was allowing the axle to move. He removed the bit the nut was hanging on by with his fingers :eek: This was only replaced in the spring, by a proper landy garage (not me :D)

While I was there Zip offered to do a video of the engine. It had got a lot worse so we took some bits off it and Neils video shows the problem :eek:

To be honest I am quite pleased  its better than the other likely alternatives and its fixable. After going down about 11am I have only just got in. I tried to do some of the job myself as Neil was doing a gearbox. However I would still have been there next weekend if Neil hadn't have finished it for me .

Thanks Neil, sorry Matty is being such a pain at the moment.
