Whats wrong with my engine

What you didn't suggest was how to do that. I dont have a working video camera

Was the breather the thing that I had to clean and then put the air line into.
well yer didn't say that, did yer

and yes, the cyclone breather is the plastic thing you washed out in paraffin then blew out.

Well we weren't talking about the cyclone thing. We were talking about blocked crankcase breather :p

God I am getting good at these technical terms :D

Just realised my iphone takes videos

If the rains stops for a minute I will take one. Dont have a utube account or any idea how to upload them though

It's amazing what these modern contraptions can do innit? :D

You can upload vids to photobucket though it sometimes takes 2 or 3 attempts.......keep it short and it should be ok :)

Are you losing oil over the top of the engine from the filler cap? Was there much in the pipe from the cyclone to air system? Does the dipstick stay sat down fully in place? Did you check the pipe from the bottom of the cyclone to the sump?

Are you losing oil over the top of the engine from the filler cap? - no, only what I spilled filling it

Was there much in the pipe from the cyclone to air system? Don't know Neil took it off and Dean washed it in the paraffin washing thing.

Does the dipstick stay sat down fully in place? Yes

Did you check the pipe from the bottom of the cyclone to the sump I didn't, not sure if Neil did, will ask

Thank you :D

ya meen Neil...;)

:eek::eek::eek: That is not nice

Poor Neil, in the last couple of weeks he has been called a Knight, a Smerf and now a Pixie.

And I left a huge oil slick on his workshop floor last night. It now has Sues Slick engraved into the floor :D:D:D

The Landy is in the bad books anyway. Last week I gave it new brakes and pipes, this week ALL the oil and filters and this is how it repays me

:doh: Why didn't I think of that
Peed off piskies can cause all manner of trubble :(:D
Sorry to hear of your misfortune sue, almost relieved to see a crankcase pressure fred about 200 tho, it is almost always 19j when peeps post about this :D
What surprises me about this is not that you have pressure, it is common, but that your engine has done so few miles, and that it has started suddenly!
James posted earlier about the servo, and the vacuum tube leading to it. I wouldn't say this is common but I have seen it a few times. Very easy check, block the tube completely and see if the pressure clears. If it aint that or breathers or valves I cant see much except engine wear or rings, but really surprised if it is after only 82k:confused:

will be checked next time its in.

did question if the mileage was correct, or if it had been round the clock.
other suggestion was service intervals, or lack of them.
all seems legit tho, with the history sue has on paper.

will be checking cyclone drain and servo system next time.
failing that, will look more deeper if sue wants. (rather she'll look deeper, i'll be hovering in the background.)

nosey bugger :p

And just worked out that to go round the clock it would need to have done 1,082,000 miles. Has this ever happened

a low mileage engine isnt necessarily a non-worn engine. could have done all those 82000 miles at max rpm, or spent a long time idling but not actually moving.

still hope you get it sorted

Seems to be a bit unlikely, they would have to drive it in shifts, I think, must be about 50k a year:D
To give you an idea of what is possible tho, a mate sold his 200Tdi def last year, it had 254,000 on the clock on original engine and still running ok and passing emissions.
