Had my renewal come through a while ago for £357 from More th>n.
That became a challenge for me to find cheaper (as it always does), so I went on to the money saving expert site and did the recommends on there.
I managed to find a lot cheaper policies (like for like), but one of them quoting was More th>n for £218.
Thats nearly £140 cheaper..!!
And the same bloody company..!!
Do they think I am stupid or something..?
Why the hell do they do that. It must p1ss off a lot of people who will not use them again..
Also, on the new quote it gave me a free phone number to call, but on my original renewal quote it was a number I had to pay for

Anyway, I phoned them up on the free phone and spoke to Mohammed who I could not understand very well and then put me on hold for about 5 mins, so I put the phone down and called the other number where I spoke to someone who spoke my language very well and didn't put me on hold..
He couldn't understand why I was able to get a cheaper quote online with the same company, but said he could not give any info about the new quote..
I get really p1ssed off with these companies.. I have been driving since 1986 and have never had a claim, but I can only use 9 years no claims.
Why can't they go back to the loyalty thing where it doesnt go up much if you stay loyal to them. They all seem to stick about £100 (at least) onto the renewal hoping I become a moron as I get older..

Cheapest quote I found was £200 in the end..

say no to 0870 best website ever, usually gives you a geographical number to call, so its free on yer moby, or an 0800 number.
Loads of insurers have an 0800 for sales, and and 0844/45 or even70 for customer disservice.
I usually just ring the geographic, or the 0800 and get them to put me through.

Had same sort of thing for several years now, every year I find one £10-£20 cheaper and have been swapping between PO Co-op and now Lloyds tsb......all the time I have been insured with BISL:confused::confused::confused:

I am with Footman James they come in well cheep for my four cars Well 1990 Robin, 1977 Kitten, 1974 Robin and my 1935 7cwt Reliant agreed vale of £10,000 and it only cost me £160 year. My old comp racer and my SWB 1966 V8 was with Peter Best who did that for £200 and they were far from standard. I have found that main stream insurance companies don't like Land Rover owners.

I need to address the question to you then..
Why do you treat your clients as morons..?
(Not meaning you personally)

I work for an insurer also - when it comes to renewals some companies often rely on customer apathy - many people just don't want to go through the hassle of changing insurer.

I can't find anyone cheaper Than £350 for the defender, as it's classed as a van. did the Compare the confused supermarket trawl last night and the company I'm with now. Autonetvan insurance. was £100 more expensive on the comparison site than it was for my renewal????

Foned a few up today Allegedly cheap companies offering good deals and all were between £390 & £500.

Unfortunately many of us have no control over the company we work for. We are just a bum on a seat. All we can do is knuckle down and do our bit.

Dan will go out of his way to get you a good deal. I would've gone with him for my insurance renewel last year if there hadn't been a complication due to work.

His company said my Disco is a "classic" and they do not like to put business use on "classics"
I am not having a go at you guys doing your jobs, of course you have to go along with what you are told, or you are shown the door. Its the whole system that gets me.. I should not have to pay extra for all them kids that wrap their cars around lamp posts etc. My cover is noting to do with them. I should not be charged extra, just in case I do not go looking for other quotes.

Well this week I have spent over 2 hours on the phone, ringing around trying to find a windscreen for a rare japanese import vehicle for a client ( and found one ;) )

Made a 66 year old female client giggle and got her an excellent deal on a new vehicle she was buying. She liked my cheeky sense of humour ;)

Had feedback and thanks on another forum for getting a client an excellent deal on his insurance...

Oh and was also called a bag of cocks, which really made me laugh.. ( mentioned that to my girlfriend and she said it reminded her of her last visit to Ann Summers ) ...

All in all, we are not all the same and some of us actually enjoy helping people out... :p
