RENEW MY INSURANCE...

Over the weekend my Insurance renewal dropped into my inbox, was I in for a suprise, last year for my 1999, D2 it was £127 fully comp, this year its...£272,.. that an increase of 115%, needless to say I will not be renewing it with Zenith, I called them this morning to see it the could shed any light on why the increase was so large even the operator I spoke to said thats quit a jump in price, I did a comparison site serch and got fully comp for £154 for more reasonable

Wow, I had similar for my car the other week. Mine was exactly £100 more than I paid last year but after checking others I got a better policy for the same money as last year. For reference it was Churchill that hiked the price up so i've left them, shame because I always felt safe with them.

That's a lot cheaper than mine!!! I think I need to shop around

Happens on most renewals. The insurance company chucks an inflated price in, on the chance you just renew. My van insurance jumped from £310 to £640 because some owd fogey ran into the back of me... Shopped around and got a quote from LV for £285

Most offers are for new customers.....

ive just had a Unable to quote for my D2
factory standard
19 years old
and Zenith won't insure it at any price

here's what they said

Exceeding the maximum insurance value means that when the underwriter have calculated a quote, the cost of the insurance would exceed their maximum cost which would mean they'd not offer cover.

I am very sorry that this year we did not get a quote from our underwriter we could provide you, I can certainly help you raise a complaint and pass these details to our customer relations team. What would you be seeking as a resolution to the complaint?

Insurance for LR cars seems to be rising quite a lot recently. Infact, due to the number of Range Rover thefts in the London area, you cant even get quotes at all from some brokers.

ITV's Money saving Expert, Martin Lewis, did a show last week on insurance....

It's not just LR. My insurance on the Jag doubled. I shopped around and got cover elsewhere.

My renewal offer was triple. I called them and they explained because of theft of land rover and range rover that's how it is.
I see jlr have upgraded security on new vehicles.
So I said to the insurance company I don't have a problem with theft as it's in the garage but they were having none of it.
I then went on the price comparison site , brought the insurance cheap through top cash back and saved a few quid on last year's £127 AND it was with the same company I used last year that wanted triple the price on renewal because of land rover theft.

Their absolute knobs but I'm insured for the year for less than £110 with the same company as last year..

This year mine went up 300quid. Asked admiral I don't want to leave but there are other prices. Knocked 100quid off.
