Sorry for the bad pics! Its the sensor with the wire coming out (More or less in the middle of the pic)

Theres two of these sensors, looking from under the car, the one on the drivers side is right behind the starter. And theres another bang opposite on the other side of the engine.

What are these sensors please? As some of you may know i been having running troubles on me Rangie.

The drivers side sensor has what looks like silicone where the plug connector would be and not much of a connector. Cant really see much more but it seems like theres some melting of the wires where the plug should be!?

Cheers dudes

yes there knock sensors they tell the ecu how to keep timing at optimum

What would be the impact if one or both was faulty? Would the engine just not run or would it run bad or would it run based on the last set of readings? Sometime I swear I can hear my engine "pinking" (pre-ignition) which is a sign of the timing being slightly out. It is barely noticable and might be something else.

Does anyone have or know where i can get hold of the plug connector that connects to the actual knock sensor? I done a search and not finding anything.

looks like some tool has bodged the connection!

Its the Gems 4.0 V8

Any good scrappy, they are just bosch plugs as used on alot of european cars, best take a sensor with you for a pattern as many have little tags inside to make them individual...some manufacturers sell them as a mod as they have been gold plated over the years because of connection problems, make sure you get a fair lenght of wire with them then just join them in wire for wire...?
