What's the most resilient Landy engine? (Sorry didn't know where else to put this)

hmmmm its prob boring but only as resilient as a v8 and sounds terrible :p

lets be honest we are :5bbeatdeadhorse5:

you need jap or german to be decent, although some korean stuff seems to be kicking our arse also these days

I completely agree with your second comment, but the question was 'Landy engine'

Btw I happen to like the noise my Landy makes, but that's probably just me.

Silly question perhaps... but with so many series 3s running around... would that not be testament to the resiliance (not resonance) of the 2.25,2.5, fourpot engines that they used?

Old heavy and expensive to run perhaps.... but if so many are still on service they must have had something going for them!

only time my old 200tdi stops out off-roading is when the v8's i go with keep breaking down
apart from the sound and exceleration mine does all theirs do and less than half the cost in fuel and mine keeps going ( and the waters not a problem )

its becoming quite the tdi vs v8 debate

if fuel costs were not an issue, would we all have a v8 or would some keep thier tdis?

tdi is the climax of their design and suffers less bore wear for miles done

i used to have a v8 many years ago (did a v8 conversion in my 88" 2a ) but since i've had my 200tdi ( about 9 years ) would'nt have a v8 as a gift now

? td5 was slightly more powerful ,i had 3.9 at the time and a mrs wondering if we was in a rush between sleeping

:D
at salisbury the other week i had a lot of problems with the 200 (seemed like fuel starvation ) was almost like driving a N/A . had to take a run at hills :( got half way up a particular big hill (on tarmac) and my doris said why do you lot keep slowing down on the hills for?:D
