Whats the difference between the Discovery 200 and 300 tdi `s

I know there is a bit of difference inside them at the dash. but is there much more differences.

Is there a difference in the engines ? power, economy, etc.

Cheers

Landrovers are categorized by length - ie Defender 90 is 90 inches long, 110 is 110 inches long

Discoveries are the same, but measured differently, using the little known unit of Transverse Declination inches - hence TDi

So you have;

Defender 90 (inches)
Defender 110 (inches)
Discovery 200 TDi (Transverse Declination inches)
Discovery 300 TDi (Transverse Declination inches)

Simple really ;)

EDIT : Sorry, should have explained the special unit is used because Discoverys are slightly longer when driving on a side slope.

nobody deserves any more than anyone else its down to luck who answers

the main difference ive noticed is that the 200s seem to be a bit older than the 300s.

**** taking will stop shortly and sensible answers will resume.....

Landrover say that they completely redesigned the engine from the ground up . Many or even most parts are slightly different but its essentially the same old BMC two and a half that has been around for donkeys .....or so my old dad says . There is a higher power output from the 300 but the 200 is a little less refined in use . The 200 is considered to be the more agricultural of the two and so the engine of choice for many uses .

As JM says , different outer dimensions . Different ancilleries and attachments too .
