What's the biggest garage bill you have had?

OK guys, looks like I havnt bought the best of Discovery's!!!!

It's still in the garage after 10 days after having :

New DMF
New Clutch
Oil seals on tfr box replaced
New clutch master cylinder
New clutch slave cylinder
New propshaft rubber coupling

Now the vibration at 60mphplus is being nvestigated with initial thinking being an out of balance propshaft.

I doubt I will see any change from £1800.....by far the biggest bill I have ever had as on other cars I have done most of the maintenance myself.

So cheer me up guys what sort of garage bills have you had?
 
A clutch when first got the Disco, about £300and a Head gasket fitting, which I got free 'cos it wasn't the head gasket!

Haven't had a garage bill for years since ... though I have had a few spare parts bills ... ;)

I'm feeling better guys, thanks..........But I just know there is more to come, at least for parts like discs and pads and an oil change, EGR removal new air filter, but at least these I'll be doing myself!
 
just bought new EBC front disks and green stuff 6000 pads for front & rear on my X-T. less than £200 :). then it will be 4 new GG At tyres @ £400.
 
For someone else doing work on a landy for me ? £100 for spark eroding a sheared P gasket bolt out of a 300tdi lump .......plus nearly a year of phoning , emailing and visiting every place with the slightest connection to engineering in devon and cornwall as my senile father had taken the engine somewhere , without my knowlege whilst I was away ,not left a name or number with the place and forgotten where he took it .

Other than that ...parts , oh so many parts

For the Landy from a garage £45 for a MOT, so far all work has been carried out by me except recently I paid a mate £250 for helping me with a **** load of welding (rear inner/outer arches, sills inner wings, battery tray, headlamp box, A&B pillar bottoms etc well worth it) but the most ive spent at once on it is about £600 for 5 BFGoodrich AT 235/70R 16s which are still going strong 4 years later, no punctures, plenty of tread and the spares still sitting on the back untouched. Over the course of ownership Ive spent a few quid replacing parts and generally keeping her on the road but its never broke the bank. My other cars however, now thats a different story.....
 
this month's parts list
£500 at paddocks
£225 on 4 modular wheels and brigdestone tyres
£10 on a roll of brake line
£6 on a ltr of brake fluid
£25 on sheet steel
£25 on gas for mig
£28 on front indicator lenses
£25 on front headlight
 
Never had one as I run a garage but my pro-forma invoice for my VW restoration came in at about £4000... but as I dont it mainly myself I only had to pay trade for my parts so it cost considerably less
 
Never had any of my discovery's in a garage luckily. But £4000 on the porsche for a clutch and flywheel followed by another £3500 for brakes and discs all round. Needless to say I was richer then and less fulfilled.

I sold the Porsche and brought my first discovery, found green lanes and then found happiness!

Generally bills have been for MOT's because I don't use garages anymore.
