Whats the best chip to put in a 2.5 dse rang rover

Whats the best chip to put in a p38 1999 2.5 dse range rover? Also what do the prices start from. Whats the bhp increased to and the mpg. The 2.5 is abit sluggish. Thanks

I had a 97 DSE for a while and I added a PSI Powerbox to it and it made a HUGE difference.

I went from 26mpg to 32mpg on average and the power of the thing was amazing. Better still, it was a plug and play device so easily removeable.

My 1999 DSE has a psi power box fitted and it goes very well indeed for a big heavy car. I have got 24.9mpg over the last 2500 miles with just about all journeys being 10 miles or less. I know of unchipped DSE's only getting the same mpg on a run where's mine has done 38mpg on a 300mile motorway run.

PSI Powerchip is the way to go,I got mine off E'bay for £120 and its made an amazing difference,5 mins to fit max and off you go.........Quickly!

Are they any downsides to this chip? It doesnt blow the head gasket or anything like that does it.

Also where could i get the psi powerbox from. Is there anywhere in leeds or by leeds where you can get it from. thanks

My Dse has the PSI chip, nice power and decent economy but its after blowing a head gasket at 70k. When you look at the threads on overheating most seem to be chipped. I don't know if its pure coincidence with people not taking a chance on chipping until the car is older and older cars being prone to blowing gaskets but it is worth starting thread on it before you take the plunge.

Chips - McCain - It's all good

By the way, I wont be taking the chip out when I get the RR back after the new head. It really does improve driveability and economy.
