Depends on the actual age, how many owners, what documented service history, condition, specification etc etc.

I reckon nearer to £2000-£2500.

I wish you the best of luck, but to be honest I think you're going to need it.

On monday I'm going to pick up a 2002 TD5 ES with 90,000mls and fsh for less than £3000.

That's the state of the market right now. If you want to sell, your price will have to be keen and the car will need to be presented in immaculate, clean condition.

hahahaha Oh you lead a wishful life.. The only problem with auto-trader is people make the mistake of thinking Asking price is a reflection of selling price.

I reckon your disco's worth about 60% of what you think it's worth.

To be honest Redhand, I think it's a bit sad that people have no real understanding of what is going on in the marketplace right now.

Dealers are still asking silly money for cars they bought/traded in 6 months ago !! Instead of taking the hit now, they're hoping for some wonderful turn around - it aint gonna happen guys !!!!

Most pre-2003 Diesel Discos are suspect, after that date they seem to have finally hammered out most of the build problems, but before that date there are a lot of cars around that are building up nicely to throwing a headgasket/head, crumbling auto-gearboxes and the issue with the hubs is just an absolute farce. £200 a corner, if you do it yourself. That is a nightmare.

Private sellers who bought in the last 24 months hopefully should have bought at the right money, as the writing has been on the wall for a while now, otherwise they are going to take a tumble.

Watch this space.................................................................

justed watched a model near to mine with no history sell for £3200 on e bay maybe thats the way to go !!
