Hi

Been offered a SORN P38 95 4.6HSE in poor condition for a monkey and was wondering what they're worth stripped down (was thinking of taking the odd bit for spares my own P38 and then fleabaying the rest - any particular bits worth good money? (The chassis is rotten on this one so it's scrap metal really)

Keep your monkey and train it to play a barrel organ. You'll make more money out of that than the Rangie.

If it is in poor condition, you really don't know what the rest is like...if it runs sweet, engine could be worth a couple of ton, the gear box a ton and a half prehaps a few score more....

Seats in good nick a ton and a half for the lot.....

Tyres/rims in reasonable nick a ton for all....

tail gate, doors, bonnet in good nick half a ton to a full ton for the tail gate...

If you have space and time to break, could be worth 5 ton....but you won't see your return straight away if your breaking....

Lol - unfortunately he's had all his fingers broken (he stole something from an Afghan in a previous encounter) so can't play :)

Not really looking to make money, just need quite a few bits for mine that would cost around that from a scrappy and hence the idea - got enough space to keep it around for a month or 3 anyway.

5 ton = a monkey ;) so no return :)

I know - thats what I said....

It could be worth spending out £500 and the bits to sell would make more than that, but the return will be slow....

You all are missing one point, it should weigh in for scrap when you are finished for around £350 depending on price per ton offered at your local scrap metal merchant. Find out what your local place is paying per ton, you may get a pleasant surprise.
