After having my Discovery 300Tdi for nearly a year I think its finally come to me that I have too many projects / toys on the go and some have to go and unfortunatly this is ont
I brought it at the start of last year in a poor condition and spent alot of time and money getting it rectified. Then I started to get into light off roading and Terratagging so it suffered some damage that cost me more time and money (can you see where this is going). With having a mrs, track car, job, dog, xbox etc im short of time and disposable money is just so short now I cant afford goodies for any of my toys
So on to the car and all the spares that ive collected since having it.
When I brought it the boot floor was in dire condition, the front inner arches were going and so were the sills. It also had a big back box, bright red mud flaps and a flimsy A bar.
So I set about sorting it all out.
Many many hours went into the welding as I replaced the boot floor, the straps that hold it up and the rear crossmember. While I was there I replaced the fuel tank retaining strap and replaced the poor towbar wiring that was there and added a second socket with a "smart relay" included in the circuit.
Then I strpped the whole interior out on a rust hunt so the sills were welded along with the front floor pans, drivers side scuttle tray and both front inner wheel arches.
As half the dash was out anyway I went further and took it all out to replace the heater matrix that had been bypassed.
All the welding was then painted in "red lead" and after everything was refitted the rear end was undersealed underneath and then a new centre and rear exhaust was put on.
Ive also replaced the drivers door latch and replaced the springs in the latch too.
That being all the standard stuff out the way now for the modifications on it.
Removed the egr system
When I got it had a poorly wired light bar that has since been rewired with a relay in it now !
It also had a snorkal that ive sealed up so its now airtight.
Its currently on Greenway steels with mud tyres that are worn but still get it to alot of places other vehicles cant.
I ended up making a custom front bumper / nudge bar that uses the standard holes so can be easily removed if needed. It also hides behind it a T-Max 12000lb winch that is operated by a remote that pluges discreetly into the front grill.
There is also a steel steering guard fitted and a front diff guard too.
Obviousally it has taked quite a few knocks etc as Ive been learning to offroad at the deep end along with using it to carry engines and gearboxes around for a friend. The interior is not the tidyest but nothing that really makes the truck look bad I think.
Spares wise Ive got :
Spot lights
Radiator
Front wings
Front doors with glass
Rear doors with glass
All rear window glasses
Spair pair of rear quarter panels
Boot door
Ive prob forgotton alot but hopfully ive remember most of it
If you have got this far then many thanks and what do you see it all as being worth ?
Price me up please
