I've a mechanically A1 Disco 2. I intend to use mainly for towing with very ocassional off road driving in deep rutted muddy lanes. The car is fitted with good all terrain tyres. I have a budget of up to £1000 to spend on after market parts. I was going to buy a 2" high lift kit, a winch and a steering guard for starters. I'm looking for advice on any obvious flaws in my thinking at this point and any advice. I will get my local garage to fit the high lift kit but will fit the winch and steering guard myself.
Questions:
1. Are there any other obvious parts I should buy and give to the garage to replace at the same time as they are fitting the high lift kit ?
2. I dont really want to change my Disco 2 Bumper and feel able to modify this myself for the winch. Can anyone recommend a winch or offer any advice on this ? Would I be better just buying a winch bumper ? I imagine the winch would be used only very ocassionaly.
Id rather get advice from the forum in the first instance opposed the retailer.
