the tyres are not good so looking at transporting it back to leeds or driving up there with a cheap set of wheels with tyres...........

Can you help me? what am i looking for? do most fit a 1995?

Really excited my first Landrover............ if you are going to shoot me down be gentle...........

Cheers John :D

Hi John, first of all the car looks great !! There may be things you'll need to do to her, but that's part of the fun of owning a Landy and you'll learn loads.

Re the tyre thing, can't you just go to the nearest tyre place and get some new boots?? There's bound to be someone in Newkie that'll do you some tyres reasonable.

Good luck

Dave

As Dave (thebiglad) says nice disco, and 21 bids for it, u could order your tyres at the local tyre place as sometimes they don't stock our tyre size and then have the fitted when u collect your dicso and before u drive home.

Don't forget to let us know about your disco.

What are you going to use it for? Best decide what sort of tyres you want and then go to UK tyres online: Blackcircles.co.uk discount tyre specialist or somewhere similar, order them and get them to come and fit them to the car before you drive home. That way you put the cost of the trailer towards the tyres. Looks like you've got a good set of allys on the car so you have a choice of sizes. Originals would be 205/80 R16 or 235/70 R16s, but with the suspension lift they'll look a bit puny. Have a look at Disco Tire Fitting Guide which will show what tyres will fit, bearing in mind that the lift may avoid the need to trim the arches if you only go up a bit in size. Have a look around this site for recommendation on the brands of tyres. Good luck!

Mant thanks........... looked at the guide, but unsure. If iam going to put new boots on, with the 40mm lift how big could i go anyone?????

Hi.

The previous owner has given me the mot via post, after visiting the vosa site it had a advisory on
  • Nearside outer front upper suspension component mount- prescribed area is corroded
  • Corrosion to the under battery mount
  • Corrosion around rear seat belt mounts
Would the suspension mount be sorted as the suspension lift was fitted after the mot?
Anyone have and idea on the seriousness and cost of repairing the above, i guess the seat belt mount is pretty serious!!!!

Cheers
JOhn

John

rear seat belt mounts corrode quite quickly, as they are mounted to the wheel arch! Give them a good poke with a screwdriver to see how far gone they are, not a mega job to replace them though I don't think
