What to look for on a 98 300 tdi landy disco

Hi everyone

I`m going to look at a 98 300 tdi its apparently a G4 spec(i honestly didnt know they had this spec) with 90k on the clock, going this afternoon it`s at a dealership.

Is there anything in particular i need to look are there any
common faults,niggles to be cautious of just incase seller is trying to hide.

any info will be appreciated to make sure i dont by a bad one.

you got me worried then beneagles i thoiught there was going to be a huge list.

i dont mind the occasional thing my current mk3 golf gti has common faults/niggles vw`s aren`t always what the advert says

Arm yourself with a torch and a screwdriver, with his permission poke the chassis all round (don't belt it, just light tap) if he refuses walk away he's hiding something! if the the sound of the ring becomes a thud or the screwdriver pokes through there is a rotten chassis it can be a small weld or a whole new chassis!, just check the vin number to see if its got any outstanding problems oh and just have a look at the bulkhead around the windscreen and down in the engine bay. Then if it starts good and drives good then you get a good price, you may be onto a winner!
