It looks like the domestic financial controller is going to agree to release some funds for me to buy a Land Rover (I've wanted one for a while but not got round to it).
I've been advised by a friend who's been into them for 20 years to buy something pretty standard to start with.I don't mind if it needs painting/cosmetics but I'd like to get something driveable (although the landy won't be my main vehicle)
I'd prefer to get pre-1972 so it's tax exempt. budget is £800-£1000.
Is this a realistic figure ?

get a disco for the same money too!
pleases doris no end. and it dont frighten the neighbours too much.

if u aint got the mechanical know-how and can only do the cosmetics then u shud have some spare cash for mechanic labour hours if ur going to buy pre-72 for that money.
