Out Td4 auto is at 74,500 (ish) miles. No propshaft or VCU it right now though, but wil be refitted soon. In the short time we have had it, it appears to be a very nice compromise and I'm looking forwards to dragging the 'van with it later in the year.

As to the engine, my Rover 75 diesel is on 116, 625 miles and still going strong, I've seen these engines, in R75s, do over 200k miles with little or no work, they just need the oil changing nice and regular :)

Freelander 2001 SE 1.8
Today passed 156K
Clutch 100K
Inlet Valve & Head Gasket 120K
New Pistons and Liners at 150K (replaced in situ) made Liner clamp out of Old Stretch Bolt and M10 Nuts drilled out and Large washer. Should get another 50K out of her now.
Check the coolant level every week, as soon as the level of coolant drops I just replace the Inlet Manifold Gasket (done it four time in the last 100k). I wonder if this actually save the Head Gasket?

:welcome2:Now post in the Introduce yourself section.

PS your fuel and temp guages are not in the same place as my '99, just looks odd:)

Mine's a '98 XEdi - and it's on 265000ks that's 165000m.
Average, but I know another bloke in this small town who has the same
model and says his has done 360000. That's 223000 Miles. That'd be up there
wouldn't it.

You have to bear in mind that this is Australia - everything is a bit further apart than the UK. I live in Denmark, WA, and think nothing of "nipping" up to Perth - 400Ks. When we moved back here my wife and I drove nearly 4000ks to get here.
