I've got an L322 Rangie which I love but don't use everyday and a Peugeot 306 diesel which I use mostly along with cars that come into stock as I'm in the car trade.
I would like another LR for green laning/ off roading
That I don't mind getting scratched and damaged etc.It would need to be diesel really as I've already got 1 thirsty V8, that or LPG.
Ice always quite liked the 90/110 but their a bit pricy, tje. There's the Disco which I don't know much about, and a diesel Classic is rare, what would you go for yourselves?.

£1000 could get you a reasonable range classic, though 200tdi's seem to be few and far between, and ive heard the VM diesels are a bit pants...
id say get a disco 300tdi if its gotta be diesel =)

would a series landy for £1000 be asking for trouble?

Think a decent 200 Tdi Disco seems like the best bet, are they better with a manual or auto?, V8 Rangie would be nice but not an option unless LPG.

You'll struggle to find an auto 200 tdi disco, and they're not ideal anyway - the Tdi doesn't have enough power to warrant an auto in my opinion, the manual however is perfect for it.

I always thought that there wasn't really much difference between 200 and 300 Tdis anyway?,looking around on Autotrader and Ebay I think I'm going to try and get a 200 Tdi manual, not going to bother with paying more for ES spec though.

There's not a massive difference between the engines themselves, you'll find that more 300 discos will be auto. The 300 discos are also a lot more luxurious than the 200s.

I'm not really fussed about luxuary, as long as its got a radio and a working heater for the winter that will do me!.

I've got a v8 rrc with lpg that I've been thinking about selling if you're interested?

forgive the spam;)

Yes I'm interested, could you let me know the details of it?.
I do really need to get rid of the 306 before I buy anything else but 306 HDIs seem to sell like hot cakes so I'm not too worried about that!.

Where do you live? had a local lad asking about it tonight.

I'm down in Surrey so a bit of a trek to come and view, if the Pug goes in the next week I will let you know and would still be interested if it's still for sale.
