K Reg 200tdi 90 Contemplating doing another rebuild, Although it isn't that bad.
Would of got some pics but it was cold dark and miserable by the time I got back.

I did took her to the car wash and then went to a party in the bush to visit some friends. and guess what , it was raining and all mud through the forest so the girl is as dirty as yesterday.

got more chance of folk getting stuck on grass verges here, they are all so wet you sink when you walk on the buggers

got me noo ignition switch today, just need to find time to swap it, then with a bit o luck, I will be able to start when I turn the key, and not cut out at random as I drive along.

landy wouldn't go on full lock when turning right so on further investigation (garage telling me lol ) it would seem when off roading yesterday (my son) must've walloped the steering guard, that for some reason didn't have any top bolts in! n it dropped about 3" thus hindering said steering, so guess who sorted it? yes me n i fitted a front diff guard but managed to knock my chemical metal welding off the rear diff so now have a pool of diff oil under the landy! oh bugger another job to sort on my days off!!

Added up what needs to be done to the Disco get it fully functional again after the MOT :

1 Buy Dremel (old angle grinder went out in a cloud of smoke)
2 Remove temporary - but secure - rear seat belt mount on w/arch and replace with something tidier (grinding off remains of damaged original nut in the process)
3 Remove stubs of snapped 2nd row seat mounting bolts
4 Buy rivnut gun
5 Make new mounting holes for 2nd row seats
6 Put 2nd row seats back in (forgot to fit them before the MOT )
7 Tidy up paint that was slapped on in the dark over fresh welding
8 Replace driver's seat diaphragm
9 Redo the rear door card in metal plate so I can attach some useful hooks and brackets
10 Get radio working on more than one speaker
11 Fix sunroof/alpine window leaks - that'll have to wait for drier weather

Should keep me out of trouble for a while.

And I've paid out another wedge of VED for good measure.

Bread and water for the rest of the month.

Fitted wee small wheels n tyres drove it found out rear wheel rim buckled severely like inch and a half out got to 35 mph gave it best hopefully only one is buckled will swap and retry speed gearing tests Thursday eve!

If speed gearing tests go well then looking for more tubeless rims

New dampers arrived to fit! don't have a landy because my clutch went

Found out that there is quite a bit of play in my front prop shaft. Local garage recommended coming on here and finding out how much play is normal. It's on a 2001 TD5 90 Defender.

Didn't quite understand when the garage started talking about thrust bearings ?? Any ideas how much play is acceptable and how difficult a job it is to fix ??

Depends where the play is, should be almost non in the UJ's and he diff should have a tad and the centre can have a bit before i become a problem

Hopefully cured the 3 amigos,nothing showing on diagnostics but kept - bing bing bing after 200 yds or so,well impressed with all of the threads posted,found mine to be the earth wire behind the glove box, happy days ,fingers crossed had disco td5 mk2 on 24/12/13.
Wk1 did a facelift light conversion,
Wk2 air bags off and 2" spring conversion,
Wk3 bigger wheels n tyres fitted,cut facia to fit a 2din media/ sat nav system
Wk4 hopefully cured 3 amigos,and did the pard b abs mod,
Wk5 will be,performance discs + pads all round,,
Most jobs not needed but makes better lol
